Nancy was first attracted to complementary healing systems in the 1970’s while trying to maintain her health in her work as a Union Carpenter. Her earliest training began in massage and yoga. In 1986, she was introduced to Reiki Healing through a personal healing experience. Intrigued, she took the Reiki Level I training in February 1987 and then Level II in July of the same year. The following year, Nancy opened a part-time Reiki Healing practice in her home and then, in 1994, she joined with five other Level II Reiki Practitioners to form Key Stone Reiki and Associates. Nancy worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with UPMC for nearly 10 years, treating patients primarily in ICU.
Nancy completed her Master Training in 1996, with Reiki Master Linda Keiser Mardis of Olney, Maryland. Linda was trained by Phyllis Furumoto, Grand Master of the Usui System and granddaughter of Hawayo Takata.
Nancy’s Lineage of Reiki training is:
- Mikao Usui
- Dr. Chujiro Hayashi
- Hawayo Takata
- Phyllis Furumoto
- Linda Keiser Mardis
Nancy has also taken training in the Japanese methods of Usui Reiki Ryoho from Master Tom Rigler, Master Hiroshi Doi, and Rev. Master Hyakuten Inamoto.
The structure and content of Nancy’s Reiki Training Classes remains aligned with the standards of the Reiki Alliance, of which she was a member for 4 years, and she also incorporates the Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho methods when appropriate.
Over the past 25 years, Nancy has achieved competency in other healing modalities, as well, such as Therapeutic Massage, Basic Touch for Health, Kriya Yoga, and Hawaiian Shamanism. Yet, for Nancy, Reiki Healing remains her passion. Throughout her years of experience, she has treated her clients in their homes, hospitals, rehab centers, and hospice situations. Nancy’s clients and students can be guaranteed personal, prompt, and compassionate service.
