Description of Services

Key Stone Reiki services include: client treatment; education and training in the Usui System of Reiki Healing for individuals and groups;  research and special or demonstration projects; publications; client and practitioner support and empowerment.

CLIENT TREATMENT

A traditional Reiki Healing treatment (of a hour to an hour and a half) is given to the client by one or two Key Stone Reiki practitioners. Treatments can be scheduled by appointment with any of the group's practitioners. Arrangements can also be made to receive treatments at home, or in a hospital, hospice, nursing home, rehabilitation center or other healthcare facility.

Our intention is to have Reiki Healing treatments available in multiple locations, in accessible environments, and at a reasonable fee for service. Realizing that when a person is ill their mobility is limited, we will make every effort to treat in a place safe, comfortable and necessary for them, whether that be in a hospital operating room or in their own home. EDUCATION/TRAINING

Classes in The Usui System of Reiki Healing are offered at regular intervals in locations throughout the Pittsburgh area. Taught by Reiki Master, Nancy Murray, each level of training follows closely the class content and practice standard established by the The Reiki Alliance, an international organization of Reiki Masters. The student's Reiki healing lineage will be Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata, Phyllis Furumoto, Linda Keiser Mardis and Nancy R. Murray.  See the Training page for more class details.

Members of the practice also give lectures and demonstrations about Reiki Healing and other energetic healing arts to community groups and healthcare professionals.

Clinical education opportunities in Reiki Healing and workshops in other complementary health techniques are provided by members of the practice as community or individual interest dictates.

RESEARCH and SPECIAL PROJECTS

In the 1990s Key Stone Reiki received donations from individuals for a research fund to conduct research on the efficacy of Reiki Healing. Phase One of a study - the training of in-house staff- was completed at a local hospital. Due to circumstances beyond our control the remainder of the study could not be implemented. Other research projects are being discussed with healthcare professionals at other facilities.

Key Stone Reiki members have, for some time, been documenting healing treatment outcomes, especially of clients who come to us for a series of treatments to address a specific complaint. With the client's permission, some of these treatments are being recorded in case study format. One particular case study was presented at a national conference for healthcare professionals in Washington, D.C. in 1995.

From time to time the practice sponsors special projects. Currently the group is collaborating with a number of community organizations to provide Reiki healing services to clients at various clinical sites.

PUBLICATIONS

Key Stone Reiki has for some years published and distributed to Reiki practitioners and the general Pittsburgh community a tri-annual newsletter about Reiki healing and other wellness information. The Newsletter is now available in an on-line format through this web site.  Other print and on-line educational materials are made available as necessary.  

PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT

Affirming our growth as individuals and as a practice, we support each other's efforts to acquire wisdom and to increase skills, particularly in the healing arts. Through individual and group retreats, educational sabbaticals, conferences, course work and clinical experiences, we strive to keep current in holistic healing practices. We seek to be insightful in applying our full knowledge and skills to meet the healing needs of our clients.
