MaryAnn Dent, LMT, has been associated with KSR since its inception in 1994. Training at the Pittsburgh Playhouse School of the Theatre during the late ‘60s, MaryAnn learned the need to care for the human body. Using the body as an instrument of artistic expression she became fascinated with various techniques used by performers to enhance their instrument’s ability to work including Shiatsu and massage therapy. She initially studied Shiatsu leading to training in Applied Kinesiology through the Touch For Health System and was licensed as a massage therapist in 1985.
During a serious illness in 1990, MaryAnn was exposed to the healing benefits of Reiki with Nancy Murray and received her first level training during the summer following her hospitalization. In private practice she offers massage therapy, Touch For Health Kinesiology, and Reiki. Through the Westmoreland County Community College she teaches various courses in massage and bodywork and is the Touch For Health Kinesiology instructor at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy. MaryAnn believes that relaxation is the most profoundly healthful state for mind and body to experience and that Reiki offers the ultimate relaxation. MaryAnn serves eastern Monroeville, Trafford, Murrysville, Irwin.
