The Sun sets. I am aware that it is not the sun moving, but me. The million billion cells of me, acting in dynamic harmony, are relaxing on a porch chair, perched on a blue-green gem of a plant, which is rotating thousands of miles a second, while eyeing in orbit through akasha- the vastness of infinite space.
The movement inside me is no less staggering. Millions of cells are dying and regenerating each second. I'm getting a whole new liver every six weeks and millions of new blood cells every hour. I notice that all these actions exhibit a miraculous correlation. They are a microscopic dance of unbelievable coherence which keeps the 'me' with which I identify moving from Sunday into Monday, Christmas into the New Year.
Yet, I wonder what Mega-Universal Framework defines the course of all these quantum packets of energy? How do I manage, out of the infinite realm of possibilities, to make my unique day-to-day life? Do I have conscious control over any of this movement? To what extent can my focused will create personal change?
These philosophical and practical questions have been around for a long time. Recently they have become more important to practitioners in the healing professions. As Dr. Candice Pert's "Molecules of Emotion" has gained acceptance, along with Dr. Edmond Jacobson's work in Biofeedback or Larry Dossey's research on the effectiveness of prayer, we are just beginning to realize the impact of consciousness and intention on healthier states of being. In this issue we encourage you to enhance your skills in healing by recognizing the power of your intentions.
