Request for Hospice Reiki Volunteers
The following message comes from Linda Waros, who joined Aseracare Hospice as a Volunteer Coordinator and also Alternative Modalities practitioner about 2 years ago.
“In my job we use Reiki and Massage with our hospice patients and their caregivers. Right now, I am the primary Reiki practitioner and would like to put the word out to your group that we would love to have Reiki Volunteers join us. It would require Volunteer Training, which is free and required by Medicare for all who have one on one volunteering with a patient.
Aseracare is the 4th largest hospice agency in the U.S. The Pittsburgh office is on Ardmore Blvd., Forest Hills, however, we cover 7 counties so a volunteer can work in their area for as little or as much time per month as they would prefer. Honestly I must say this is the kindest and most compassionate group of people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. There are over 100 hospices in W. PA and believe me, not all are created equal. This one is just cream of the crop and I feel honored to be associated with this staff.
