The Burger King Cancer Caring Center is co-sponsoring a limited number of Reiki Level One training classes for its clients through October 2010. Training fees for the classes are being fully subsidized by the Cancer Caring Center and the Anton and Ingrid Bigman Fund of Key Stone Reiki.

Level 1 or “Shoden” is available to any patient and one caregiver with an interest in learning about the hands on healing process of Reiki Therapy. A comprehensive Reiki training program held over a 2 day period, 10-12 hours total, includes the history of Usui System of Reiki therapy, presentation and discussion of the 5 basic principles, putting what you learn in to practice by doing self treatment and learning to treat others. Time is allotted for supervised, clinical practice.

All sessions will be offered at an East End location, lead by Nancy Murray, Reiki Master, who has been teaching and practicing reiki healing since 1987. Check out www.keystonereiki.com for more details about reiki therapy. For questions about the training and directions; call Nancy at 412-727-1731.

The first class occurred in November, 2009.  Additional classes will be held March 5-6, May 21-22, July 16-17, and September 3-4, 2010.

Cancer Caring clients and their and caregivers are eligible to apply by calling the Cancer Caring Center at 412-621-1212.  The CCC will refer prospective students to Nancy Murray for registration.
